Go on, have a read...
That's basically it. That's like 90% of why I do this. Just love eating. Arguably too much. In terms of volume and frequency too. If there's food in front of me, it will not be there for very long. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending which way you look at it, I'm not a picky eater at all. UNLESS IT'S COCONUT. Lord give me strength... even the word makes me feel ill. What is the hype??? Can't stand the stuff. Anyways, I've also always enjoyed writing. Stories, reviews, scripts, the whole lot. I find it quite therapeutic. So, after about 5 minutes of brain-storming, it turns out that creating a food blog is the best way to combine the both. Who would have thought??
There isn't a niche that I want to focus on - Italian Restaurants, or the Best Burger Joints for example - but more of a widespread variety across all sorts of dining experiences. Be it Fast Food or Michelin Star Restaurants, if I eat something, and remember to take a photo of the food, it will be getting a review! So if one week you see a review posted about a great Greek restaurant, and you're not a fan of the Greek cuisine, (a crime by the way), then do not worry... the following week will change. (Unless it was that good and I decide to go back). But you get my point.
When deciding on the ranking system, I wanted to keep it very broad to try and cover all bases, as best I can. The first one is Taste, kinda obvious right? How good actually is the food? (Rated out of 5 Stars - 5 being best). The second is Price. The price is important, no? How "well-priced" is a restaurant/dish. I'm not here to overpay. And neither should you. (Rated out of 5 Stars - 5 being best). The last Rating will be Service/Experience. I do believe that you could have the best meal you've ever had in your life, but if it's taken an hour to arrive on your plate, it leaves a bit of a sour taste in your mouth. I'm not a harsh person, I think i'm rather fair and patient. But, no dish is worth waiting over an hour for, right? (Rated out of 5 Stars - 5 being best).
Before you think I'm about to ask for money, I would never. Your cash is safe. However, if you did want to go the extra mile to show some appreciation, you can follow my instagram - @montysmunch - (It's free!) I'd love that. And if you wanted to go evennn further, you can check out my Media Page called @montysmedia - I mainly post unrelated content on there, however, when I get the chance to do a Video review of a good meal, you'll find it on there as well!
I know what you're thinking... we don't need another Food Blogger popping up. We've probably got enough already. And you're right. And in today's world, I find it hard to decide who to trust. Who's reviews are right? Who's reviews are wrong? Taste and experiencing food is subjective, we can align on that. However, one thing that can't be faked is a natural passion for food, and even cooking. Despite the fact I was born and raised in the land of "Fish and Chips," you would be surprised about how much one can learn about the culinary world.
Bottom line is, I like food. A lot. And I like writing reviews, also a lot. So why not combine the 2. You really never know, you could find a restaurant to grab your next bit of MUNCH!
